Or perhaps just this overall general burnout of pouring yourself out year after year, wanting it to be different next year.

The 3 Steps of Joyful Support

Think of when you make a delicious meal in your kitchen. There's so much to enjoy and savor, but there's always cleanup to do. Those pans with leftovers stuck on them won't clean themselves. The magic of soaking helps make it easier—a little water and soap, creating space and time to process without the difficult scraping right now.

The 3 steps are your soap and water for stuck emotions.

Step 1: Story — What's going on in your life right now? What's consuming your mental energy? Getting clear on your story is the first step to soaking those emotions.

Step 2: Joy — It's easier to see what's not going well. It takes intention to refocus on something that brings you joy. Not winning-the-lottery joy, but seeing-a-dog-carry-a-big-stick joy.

Step 3: Step — This could mean physically moving (going for a walk, dancing) or figuring out the next step toward a solution in some area of your life.

The great news? There's no wrong way to do these steps. By yourself, with a friend, on paper, out loud, once or two hundred times—it all works.


Join us at Joy Circle where we'll do these three steps together.

(Snow date: Tuesday, February 4th, same time)

Investment: $10 registration fee

Capacity: Limited to 12 people

Bring: Journal and pen to capture ah-ha moments, mug for tea (water and bags provided), and yourself as comfortable as you can be!

  • Practice self-care in community

  • Be present with others who get it

  • Identify what doesn't feel good AND what does

  • Leave with momentum and direction to move forward
