The scoring system for cosmetics analyzes every ingredient that goes into the product.
Based on the current state of science, each ingredient is assigned a risk level according to its potential effects on health or the environment: endocrine disruption, carcinogenic, allergenic, irritant, or pollutant.
Ingredients are classified into four risk categories:
- Risk-free: 75–100
- Low risk: 50–74
- Moderate risk: 25–49
- High risk: 0–24
The score is based on the level of the highest-risk ingredient present in the product.
If a high-risk ingredient is present, the score will automatically be lower than 25/100.
If the highest-risk ingredient is moderate risk, the product’s score will be lower than 50/100.
Yuka's database contains approximately 12,600 cosmetic ingredients. Some may not yet be listed, but they are added after analysis by their toxicologist.

Marie Rossi I am enjoying the arnica cream so far. It is helping with pain and is odorless and non greasy. The arnica cream is more like a thick lotion. The bottle it is in makes using it very difficult. It looks like it has a flip top but it doesn’t flip. Therefore, you have to take the cap off and shake the cream out. It either comes out in a big blob or a little blob! No way to control the amount!
Please consider repackaging and then it will be a 5 star product!

Pilar Gonzalez I suffer from lower back pain. This cream is pleasant and somewhat provides a momentarily pain relief. Might work well for light pain relief, but i found it not strong enough for a more acute pain

Carol Jenkins Your Arnica Cream has been my go to remedy for a knee that wants to complain a lot. Various medical folks have suggested surgery and replacement over the past 10 years but I have resisted. I do many things to remain in possession of all my parts, but Petal and Hive arnica cream is right their at the top of the heap. I use it morning and night and still cross country ski, take my dogs for long walks and go up and down stairs many times a day. I also recommend it to all my elderly friends. I will be 88 this month and still kicking with my original parts thanks to Petal and Hive.
